History Of Harry Winston

For more than 20 years Harry Winston is inseparably associated with jewelry and gemstones of the highest quality. In 1980s the famous New-York company began making watches together with fantastic jewelry that had already won the hearts of people from all over the world. The company focused its efforts on production of high quality chronometers that were designed in the best traditions of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. This meant as many diamonds as possible. The company issued its watches in close collaboration with famous watch makers. However, some time later the brand began thinking over reputation of an independent watch brand. This seems to be quite real, because Harry Winston always preferred collaboration with independent watch makers with good reputation. They developed new constructions of watch models or even of entire series and then put them into life together with Harry Winston.

The attribute rare required strictly limited editions of watch models. The first was the series Opus, then the company issued Opus One (by with F.P Journe) and Opus Two (Antoine Preziuso) . Opus 3 was presented at Basel 2003.

The Opus 3 was created in partnership with Vianney Halter. This watch really breaks the rules of time display and design. The time on this watch can be read through 6 “portholes”. Through these portholes can be seen 10 discs that rotate independently display the hours (top portholes) and minutes ( lower portholes) as well as the date (center top and center lower porthole). The model was produced in a limited edition of 55 pieces (25 in pink gold, 25 in platinum and 5 jeweled pieces).

Harry Winston is still faithful to the combination of luxury and interesting technical decisions. Ocean Ladies Lady Biretro is one of the best proofs of this statement.
